Exchange Server 2010 Prerequisites

To install the prerequisites for all Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 server roles on Windows Server 2008 you can use a number of XML Answer Files. Which ones you choose to run depends on which roles you want to install on the specific server. These files are located in the script folder in the installation folder. The list of files are as follow:

Exchange-Typical.xml
Exchange-CAS.xml
Exchange-Hub.xml
Exchange-MBX.xml
Exchange-UM.xml
Exchange-Edge.xml
Exchange-All.xml
Exchange-Cadb.xml
Exchange-Base.xml
Exchange-Eca.xml

To run a file you use the following command:
ServerManagerCmd -ip <Answer file>

For Example, if you want to do a typical installation:
ServerManagerCmd –ip Exchange-Typical

You must also set the .Net TCP Port Sharing service to start automatically with the following command:
sc config NetTcpPortSharing start= auto

Also, check that the functional level of your forest is at least Windows Server 2003, and that the Schema Master is running Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 or later.
